Gilmer High met rival Fannin County for a nonregion tennis tangle.
GHS made the trip to Blue Ridge last Monday, and the Lady Cats and Bobcats both fell, 4-1.
The No. 1 Bobcat doubles team of Aiden McCart and Charles Addie came out on top 8-4 for the only win of the day. The No. 2 doubles team of David Warren and Bo Cronic lost 8-0 as did top single Eder Martinez.
No. 2 single Alex Miltiades and No. 3 Chase Little lost 8-4 and 8-3, respectively.
The Lady Cats’ victory came on the No.1 doubles court as well where Bree Burnette and Chelsey Griggs won, 8-3. The No. 2 doubles squad of Autumn Spangler and Rosalie Ballew and No. 2 single Madison Bradshaw both lost, 8-0.
FCHS got an 8-4 triumph over top GHS single Lyla Engle (8-4) and No. 3 single Katelyn Campbell (8-6).
GHS defeated Ridgeland Monday evening and travels to LaFayette Thursday and Murray County Friday for matches beginning at 4 p.m.
