Gilmer golf eared a pair of wins over a local rival.
The Bobcats and Lady Cats hosted Fannin County at Whitepath Golf Course March 10. The Bobcats earned the team victory, 167-176, while the Lady Cats also secured a win, 102-127.
Leading the way for the Bobcats were Nick Wright and Noah Wright with nine-hole rounds of 40, followed by Chris Gaddis (42) and Sawyer Gaddis at (45).
For the girls, Halle West posted a 49 and Laney Martin shot a 53.
The following day at Bent Tree, Gilmer faced Pickens, where the boys fell just short, 171-167. The Lady Cats were also narrowly defeated, 110-103.
Noah Wright posted a 40 once again, while Nick Wright shot a 42. Chris Gaddis finished with a 44, and Silas West carded a 45.For the Lady Cats, Martin ended her day with a 50 and West shot a 53.
GHS was at Fields Ferry last Tuesday. Calhoun (151) defeated Rome (178) and the Bobcats (188). CHS topped the Lady Cats, 87-107.
Gilmer attended Heritage’s Five-Stare Invitational Saturday at Nob North. The Bobcats placed 13th out of 21 teams and the Lady Cats tied for fifth out of 14 girls teams.
GHS is off this week.
