Clear Creek Bobcat soccer is off to a 3-0 start.
CCMS has notched wins over Pickens (4-1), Towns County (6-0) and White County (2-1).
Bobcat Brayner Ortiz was there for two goals versus Pickens and Miguel Reynoso and Deyson Lopez scored one apiece. PCMS only had one shot all game and it resulted in a goal.
“The one goal scored by Pickens was a miscommunication and mistake by the defense, but other than that, it was a very solid defensive performance,” said coach Aaron Evans.
CCMS got plenty of players time versus Towns and they all did their part. Ortiz scored three more goals, Alex Tercero added two and Marvin Felipe netted one.
“For this game, I rotated players a lot more. I had the second string play the first half and the regular starters play the second. I was impressed with the second string players holding their own and scoring a goal in the first half,” Evans noted.
CCMS and White County battled rain and wind during their match. Willian Ramirez and Lopez netted Clear Creek’s goals, and White got on the board in the final minute after receiving a favorable bounce.
“Overall, it has been a good start to the season, but we will be looking to improve on these results and get much better as the season progresses,” said Evans.

CCMS baseball has won one of its first three games. Clear Creek lost to Fannin and Pickens and defeated White County.
“I really need a couple more pitchers to step it up, and we should be able to have a good season,” said coach B.J. Chancey. “I feel like we played the top three teams our first three games.
“Cooper Cochran has been awesome on the mound, and Peyton Chancey and Douglas Callihan have had several doubles and are leading the team with RBIs. Blake Grizzle is our leadoff batter and probably has the highest batting average.”
