Clear Creek wrestlers defended their home turf against Union County.
The Panthers were in town last Tuesday, and the Bobcats won nine of 16 bouts. Seven of Clear Creek’s victories came via pins, and the Cats earned their second league win of the season, 57-30.
Bobcats Brantley Fain (77 pounds) and Gauge Crump (84) got the day going for CCMS with back-to-back pins.
While the Panthers won three of the next four, Bobcat Kashane Perigo was there to pin his opponent at 98 pounds.
Trailing 18-15, UCMS won three more bouts, and all seven of the Bobcats’ final victories included bonus points. Daniel Escobar (120), Keigan Brookshire (126), Jaxon Crater (138), Madden Hopkins (185) and Fabian Perez all pinned their Panther opponents, while Union forfeited to Hunter Newhart (132) and Eliseo Ramos (144).
CCMS has a 2-0 dual record versus league opponents.
