Clear Creek Middle School runners tested their mettle at the always competitive Warpath Invitational.
The annual meet was held Saturday, Sept. 13 in Canton, and the CCMS Lady Cats totaled 198 points for seventh out of 14 teams. The Bobcats competed against 20 boys teams and claimed 11th place with 370.
Cherokee’s Nora Starr was first in the girls race at 11:44.60.
Lady Cat Lakelyn Garrett clocked in at 13:41.90 for 26th. Kayla Overcash (32nd, 13:51.60) and Anna Kate Heaslip (47th, 14:20.70) were next and followed by teammates Becca Heaslip (51st, 14:22.10), Ryn Baldwin (76th, 15:22.00), Karenza Mathis (91st, 15:46.50), Ava West (104th, 16:21.30), Madelyn Boyer (105th, 16:21.50), Cameron Garza (109th, 16:37.80) and Natalia Gonzalez-Santos (110th, 16:46.60).
Thaddeus Ivey of North Hall won the boys race with a time of 10:54.30.
Jackson Towns (32nd, 12:50.10) was the top runner for the Bobcats once again. Cole Jones (59th, 13:30.70) and Carson Fowler (99th, 14:20.20) cracked the top 100, and remaining Bobcats included Eli Tilton (113th, 14:38.40), Asher Kleczka (123rd, 14:55.70), Bentley Stephens (145th, 15:40.20), Andrew Burgess (151st, 15:53.70), Keven Ramirez-Reymundo (153rd, 15:55.20) and Jayden Nolasco-Chun (177th, 17:08.70), and Zane Johnson (183rd, 17:28.00).
