Clear Creek wrestlers have been busy on the mat through the early season.
The Bobcats attended the River Street Rumble at Calhoun and they brought home plenty of medals.
CCMS competed in the JV division and champions included Christian Alonzo, Jeffrey Loarca, Blayz McElfresh, Daniel Raymundo and Sammy Tercero. Reaching the finals and taking second were Bobcats Sheckler Barton, Edden Becerra, Chandler Boyette, Bentley Jennings, Issac Jones and Elvis Ortiz.
Consolation champions and third place finishers were Daniel Alonzo, Luke Bland, Bentley Brendel, William Coker, Wilson Jacinto and Neftali Perze.
Also securing a medal were Clear Creek’s Colton Connell (fourth), Adael Perez (fourth), Moses Reynoso (fourth), Jonathon Tercero (fourth), Jackson Tucker (fourth), Fernando Carmona (fifth) and Brandon Trejo (sixth).
The Bobcats went on to place second at Armuchee’s 12-team Jr. Indian Duals.
They began the tournament by winning their pool matches over Armuchee (52-33), Coosa (75-16) and Gordon Lee’s B-team (84-6) team.
In the championship bracket, CCMS toppled Gordon Lee’s A-team (51-37) and lost a very intense and close match to Woodland in the finals, 44-42.
Wrestlers participating were Jonijah Perigo, Dawson Duncan, Pedro Bautista, Moses Thwang, Rudy Morales, Rony Morales, Danny Alonzo, Christian Pantajo, Aiden Montoya, Gabriel Thwang, Carlos Garcia, Jeremiah Adams, Wilbert Morales, Caleb Gaspar, and Jonathan Jacinto.
CCMS pounced on Fannin County last Tuesday, 70-15.
Clear Creek winners included Jonijah Perigo (72), Dawson Duncan (79), Asher Klezcka (84), Moses Thawng (94), Rudy Morales (102), Jeffery Loarca(110), Danny Alonzo (118) and Ronald Perez (125).
Also, Aiden Montoya (139), Gabriel Thwang (147), Jeremiah Adams (165), Caleb Gaspar (210), and Jonathan Jacinto (275).
