The Clear Creek Bobcats won three of four basketball games to close out league play for 2022.
CCMS was in Dawson County last Monday, and the seventh-grade Cats won 59-32 before their older counterparts came out on top, 55-51.
Clear Creek hosted Fannin County Thursday and the Rebels topped CCMS seventh graders 50-39 ahead of the eighth-grade Cats’ 51-47 victory.
Both CCMS squads had solid individual scoring efforts in all four games. Noah Rice was in double figures in both games with 20 and 10 points, respectively. Andrew Chastain hit the 18-point mark versus Fannin.
Peyton Chancey was there for 23 points in the eighth-grade’s win over the Rebels. Versus Dawson, Preston McVey led the way in the post with 17 points, Chancey scored 12 and Douglas Callihan finished with 11.
The wins improved the seventh-grade Bobcats’ record to 5-5 while eighth graders are 5-8. A recap of the eighth-grade’s Christmas tournament will appear in next week’s Times-Courier.
