Clear Creek Middle School hosted Hwy. 515 rivals for a track meet.
Pickens and Fannin County were in town last Tuesday, and the CCMS Bobcats and Lady Cats had numerous top-three finishes.
In running events, Kayla Overcash placed first in the two-mile and second in the 1,600, while Katlyn Bedwell finished first in the 100-meter hurdles. Karenza Mathis earned second in the 3,200. Bentley Millwood took third in the 400. Brantley Pulliam secured the same position in the 800, and Xander Tobias placed third as well in the 100 hurdles. Lakelyn Garrett added a pair of third-place finishes in the 400 and 800.
In field events, Shelly Grace Ghorley won both the discus and shot put. Neeyah McDaniel claimed first in the triple jump and second in the shot put. Joshua Wooten was a runner-up in the triple jump and third in the long jump.
Peyton Hughes took second in the shot put, while Kortland Long was second in the discus and third in the shot put. Molly Hicks claimed second in the triple jump, Katlyn Bedwell was a runner-up in the long jump, and Brooklyn Brummel was third in the shot put.
Fannin was the top girls team with 77 points. CCMS was second (43) ahead of Pickens (four). FCMS was first on the boys side over Pickens, 61-51.5. Clear Creek was third with 11.5 points.
