The Clear Creek Bobcats and Lady Cats both placed third at the North Georgia Cross-Country Championships.
CCMS hosted the annual 3.2K event last Monday, and the Bobcats (73 points) were led by Lumpkin County (77) and Fannin County (47). The Lady Cats posted a score of 88, while Dawson County edged Fannin for first, 39-40.
The Bobcats had four runners finish in the top 20 and included Dawson Richard (13:01.40) in fourth followed by Jeremy Jacinto (14:11.70, 12th), Nelson Jacinto (14:32, 16th) and Luca DeVente (14:33.50, 17th). Andrew Chastain posted a time of 15:05.70 and placed 25th to score team points.
The top Lady Cats included Estephany Becerra (16:13.20, 7th), Autumn Little (16:55.60, 16th), Cali Wise (16:59.40, 17th), Morgan Palmieri (17:29.70, 22nd) and Jennifer Garcia (18:01.10, 28th).
Remaining Lady Cat runners were Allison Hernandez (18:28.90, 32nd), Malley Blocker (18:40.90, 35th), Lucina Farist (19:27, 41st), Sonni Ralston (19:44 44th), Halle West (20:22, 52nd), Joei Marshall (21:07.30, 57th) and Alie Morin (21:07.40, 58th).
Also, Belle Jones (21:12, 59th), Lizbeth Martinez (21:51.80, 62nd), Maggie Thompson (22:05.60, 65th), Emilee Defoor (22:05.60, 66th), Xiare Ramirez (22:06.40, 67th) and Andrea Puac (22:11.40, 68th).
Seven more Bobcats competed and they were Edward Marietta (15:37.80, 31st), Brantley Fain-Richardson (15:57.60, 37th), Seth Turner (16:47.80, 48th), Gabe Watkins (17:44.50, 55th), Clint Carver (17:55.10, 57th), Nathan Grice ( 18:16.60, 59th) and Ridge Blocker (21:29.40, 69th).
CCMS was in Canton Saturday for the Warpath Invitational. The Lady Cats finished 11th out of 21 teams and the Bobcats were 12th out of 24 in the boys standings.
Lady Cats included Becerra (4:43.64, 47th), Little (15:19.94, 69th), Wise (15:56.02, 82nd), Hernandez (16:07.35, 88th), Palmieri (16:13.42, 90th), Garcia (16:15.92, 91st) and Blocker (16:51.66, 114th).
Bobcat runners were Richard (11:56.95, 13th), Rylen Haley (13:03.10, 49th), N. Jacinto (13:11.06, 56th), Chastain (14:19.54, 116th), Marietta (14:37.17, 133rd), Fain-Richardson (14:38.86, 137th), Reynoso (15:52.62, 189th), Carver (15:59.91, 194th), Watkins (17:28.36, 212st) and Blocker (17:51.45, 223rd).
