Clear Creek Middle School sent its eighth graders out on a winning note.
The CCMS Lady Cats hosted the Dawson County Tigers last Tuesday and also celebrated its five eighth-graders.
It was a tight game through five innings before the Cats’ offense erupted. CCMS plated eight runs in the sixth inning to end the game with a 12-4 victory.
Ace pitcher Braley Stewart had another strong outing. She struck out 10 and helped keep the Tigers close.
Through four innings the score was tied, 2-2. After the fifth, it was still knotted at 4-4, but that all changed when the Cats put the game away in the sixth.
Stewart added three hits offensively, which included a pair of singles and a triple.
Five more Lady Cats produced multihit games. Parker Blue Williams also enjoyed a three-hit day with a single and two doubles.
Both Melissa Rasmussen and Neeyah McDaniel recorded a single and double, while Brenlee Daniel and Nevaeh Copeland each belted two singles.
Jocelyn McCollum added a double to the Cats’ offensive barrage.
