Clear Creek Middle School took on Lumpkin County for some Mountain League basketball action.
The Bobcats made the trip last Thursday and earned a pair of wins. The seventh graders pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back in a 44-20 victory. The eighth-grade Cats rebounded after a slow opening quarter and came away with a 48-46 victory.
The Lady Cats were at home, and the seventh-grade game was even at the half. LCMS did just enough over the final two quarters and won, 24-18. The eighth-grade matchup was marred by constant fouls, and the teams combined to shoot 49 free throws. The Cats comeback bid at the end fell short, 39-32.
