The county’s cross-country runners all gathered at Meek’s Park.
The annual Run to the Hills event attracted four middle school boys teams and six girls squads for the 3.2K race. The Clear Creek Lady Cats finished third with 80 points, and the Bobcats (101) were fourth in the boys standings.
Four Lady Cats landed in the top 20 of their race. Ella Swartz (14:50) was No. 1 for CCMS, and she placed fifth. Teammates Morgan Palmieri (16:22) and Autumn Little (17.19) were next in 15th and 18th, respectively.
Jennifer Garcia (17:22) and Allison Hernandez (17:53) rounded out CCMS scores with respective finishes of 20th and 22nd place.
Willian Ramirez (13:10) led the way for the Bobcats in fourth. River Rayborn (13:29) crossed the finish line for 10th. He was followed by teammates Jeremy Martinez (16th, 13:50), Nathan Grice (33rd, 15:33) and Clint Carver (38th, 15:55).
Also competing for the Bobcats were Cole Jones (41st, 15:59), Daniel Dunn (53rd,16:60), Shep Oleksa (72nd, 20:04), Gavyn Mesner (77nd, 21:25), Gabriel Reynoso (75th, 21:52) and Asa Leigh (82nd, 24:05).
Ten remaining Lady Cats finished the race and included Ava West (28th, 18:09), Malley Blocker (31st, 19:15), Ali Morin (43rd, 19:09), Sonni Ralston (52nd, 20:33) and Lucinda Farist (53rd, 20:40).
Also, Bradyn Chun (61st, 21:52), Maryjane Mazursky (64th, 23:11), Lizbeth Martinez (70th, 24:38), J.J. McArthur (74th, 26:30) and Emily West (75th, 26:59).
The next meet will be Sept. 5 in Fannin County.
