Clear Creek Middle School had a busy week on the basketball court.
The Bobcats and Lady Cats played 10 combined games over a four-day span and secured seven wins.
Lady Cats
The eighth-grade is 3-0 on the season and at White County last Monday. Mak Taylor led the way with 22 points as both Morgan Palmeri and Ally Phillips scored 14, and the Cats won easily, 59-19. Seventh graders fell behind after a scoreless third quarter and lost, 36-26.
CCMS hosted Dawson County Thursday. Rosie Everett had a strong day in the post with 16 points and Phillips added 11 in the 49-19 victory. DCMS seventh graders had difficulties offensively as well and CCMS won, 47-9.
Lola Howard was the top scorer for the Cats with 11, and they have a 1-2 record.

Bobcats
Andrew Chastain’s 19 points aided the eighth-grade Bobcats’ victory against White County, 42-26. The seventh graders found themselves tied at the end of regulation. It took three overtime periods to declare a winner, and White claimed a 58-53 victory. Noah Rice totaled 20 points for CCMS.
The Bobcats took on Union County the next day. Chastain had another solid performance with 18 points, but CCMS lost, 56-44. Strong first and third periods for the seventh-grade Cats allowed them to put the Panthers away, 45-27. Kayson Taylor’s 14 points were followed by 11 for Rice.
CCMS ended the week with wins versus Dawson County. A.J. Callihan had the hot hand in the eighth grade’s 54-22 win. He scored 17 points, and Taylor racked up 20 more in the seven-grade contest. The younger Bobcats won, 53-39.
The eighth and seventh graders are 2-1 overall.
