The city of Ellijay has been plagued by a series of pranks by a rogue elf, and since we last reported, Stitches has continued to stir up trouble this Christmas season. Recently, he has turned his sights on the Ellijay Fire Department.

According to EPD, firefighters returned from a hard day’s work only to realize they had been the target of Stitches’ amusement. They found several hoses had been dragged out and water was sprayed throughout the fire bay. Stitches also turned on the lights and sirens of the ladder truck. Firefighters attempted to nab Stitches but he eluded capture.

When officers arrived on scene, Stitches proceeded to launch himself to freedom using a fire extinguisher as a makeshift jetpack.

Hot on his trail, officers found the crash scene at Harrison Park, but Stitches was nowhere to be found. Officers are still unsure why he targeted the fire department.

In an attempt to bring the shenanigans to an end, authorities sought help from experts at Ellijay Elementary School. Students in Mrs. Watkins’ class sent Ellijay Police Department classified plans on how to catch Stitches, but it was later learned that leaked images of their planning session had been found on a site called Elf-Net, revealing that Stitches had been conducting countersurveillance on the department.

Officers urged students to remain alert, concerned that Stitches may retaliate.

And retaliate he did.

In the latest of his escapades, Stitches was caught on school video surveillance pilfering a bag of candy and a taunting message was left for students.

Students have responded by constructing various elf traps, and with any luck, Stitches will soon be captured and our community will once again be safe.
