Mrs. Gwendolyn Hendrix Dean

Mrs. Gwen Hendrix Dean, 67, of Ellijay, loving wife and mama.

She was born and raised on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, to the late Samuel Hendrix and Valley Owenby. She was a master florist for many years.

She is preceded in death by sisters, Anne Hornsby, Janice Engle and Reva Kuykendall. On Oct. 14, 2021, my Mama lost her battle with cancer. She was tough as nails throughout all her life and treatments. All she wanted was to live for Gary and me.

We are both trying to cope and live for her, so all her memories live on through us. To know my beautiful Mama was to love her.

She is survived by husband of 30 years, Gary Morgan Dean; daughters, Tammy Lee Hayden, of Ellijay, Shauna Dean, of Marietta; son, Lee Queen; a second Mama Gwen to Krystal Myers, of Dallas and Nicole Hayden, of Blue Ridge; brother, Stanley Wilson (Linda), of Rockmart; sister, Sybil Towns (Fred); and grandchild, Lily Garfield.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at Buckhorn Community Park (by Ellijay River), on Cherokee Drive. Balloons will be on street signs.

All are welcome to come. Gary and I are looking forward to all the stories, memories and laughter.
