Mr. Harry Dean McClure, 71, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at St. Thomas-Rutherford Hospital.

He was born in Woodstock Jan. 22, 1950, to the late Paul McClure and Ruth Wright McClure.

He loved his family, and was loved by all who met him.

He worked for many years as a bus driver for famous entertainers including, The Oakridge Boys, Kenny Rogers, Shenandoah and Randy Travis, just to name a few. He was known as “Mr. Smooth.”

He is survived by son, Casey McClure; daughter, Julia McClure; brothers, Randy McClure, Jack McClure, Rodney McClure and Danny McClure; and grandchildren, Jolee McClure, Emrey McClure, Deacon McClure, Ellis McClure and Whitley McClure.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Burt, the Rev. Charles Ray and the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tony Pritchett, Keith Hamby, Ernie McArthur, Mike McClure, John McClure and David Jones.

Honorary pallbearers were BJ Reece and Ed Forrester.
