Donna Suzanne Weaver Aldea died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at Seasons Hospice, in Cumming. She was born at home March 28, 1941, in the Cartecay area of Ellijay.

She was the second of seven children born to Bernard Weaver and Brader Chastain. She was a lot like her mother, Brader, loving to laugh and play jokes. Family was always very important to her. Her family and friends always called her Sue until the early 1990s when she began introducing herself as Donna.

She was an excellent tennis player, active in ALTA competitions; however, she did not play so much. As Sue or Donna, she was a delightful person to know, and maintained long-term friendships. Her last job was a senior executive administrative assistant for the director of the research department at Ciba Vision. She retired in 2006 and focused on her cats and visiting her family, both here and in Barcelona, Spain.

She is survived by siblings, June Waddell, Louie Weaver, Larry Weaver, Linda Finn, Deborah Wheelus and Lisa Kukla; sons, Jeffrey Johnson and Neal Johnson; two she acquired by marriage, Bruce Aldea and David Aldea; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and their children.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
