Mr. Coy Randall Richards, 79, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021.

He was born in Gilmer County June 17, 1942, to the late Carter McKinley Richards and Martha Leona Richards.

He was retired from Goldkist, was an ordained deacon and minister and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by wife, Brenda Richards; daughters, Dawn Goble (Freddie), and Lori Zellinger (Kenton); brothers, Jerry Richards (Carol), and Edward Richards (Paulette); sisters, Darlene Roberson (Ernie), Marjorie Elrod and Sue Evans; grandchildren, Jessica Griggs, Levi Morrow, Dalton Morrow, Erin Bryant and Amber Wilcox; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Natalie, Taylen, Gracie, Noah, Riley, Weston, Trinley, Sawyer, Teagan, Zetta, Hudson and Tanner.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at Clear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Chastain, the Rev. Chris Chastain and the Rev. Billy Dotson officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Richards, Terry Richards, Carver Richards, Connor Richards, Gary Richards and Brandon Richards.

Honorary pallbearers were Arlon Allison, Freddie Eller, Tommy Low and great-grandchildren.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
