Steven Daniel Cavanaugh

Mr. Steven Daniel Cavanaugh, 65, of Ellijay, died Monday, April 11, 2022, at Emory Hospital.

He was born Jan. 8, 1957, in Fort Lewis, Wash., to the late Francis Edward Cavanaugh and Hazel Irene Harris.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a telecom engineer with Hitachi Tele-communications for 18 years and worked for various other communication companies.

He is preceded in death by brother, Michael Cavanaugh.

He is survived by wife, Susan Cavanaugh; son, Brandon (Katy) Cavanaugh, of Roswell; brother, Randall “Randy” (Brenda) Cavanaugh; sisters, Carla (Jodie) Cavanaugh, Carol (Scott) Barker and Karen (Dan) Allen; grandchild, Sophia Cavanaugh; nieces, Kery (James) O’Sullivan, Kelley Allen and Kenna (Mick) Allen; and nephews, Paul (Rachel) Barker and Randy (Malona) Cavanaugh.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022, from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Rosser, the Rev. Howard Hewghey and Dave Bouchelle officiating.
