Mr. Leeman Henry, 72, of Blue Ridge, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at his residence.

He was born in Fannin County March 12, 1949, to the late Bill McCunkey and Dessie Mae Warren.

He is preceded in death by great-grandchild, Master Jaxson Thomas Henry. He was employed by the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Department for many years as a deputy sheriff. He was a proud member of the River Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by wife, Karen Bain Henry; sons, Chad Henry, and Ricky (Tammy) Henry, all of Blue Ridge; daughters, Shannon (Kevin) Dye and Vicky (Buck) Long, all of Blue Ridge; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A private funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Hood officiating.

Interment was in Yukon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tommy Hunter, Ken Petty, Eldridge Harper, Harold Patterson, Jonathan Bane and Dawson Millsaps.

Honorary pallbearer was Eddie O’Neal.
