Joseph Wayne Westmoreland

Mr. Joseph Wayne Westmoreland, 81, of Helen and Ellijay, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022.

He was born May 29, 1940, in White County, to the late Birch and Cecilia Westmoreland. He worked as an engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation.

He is preceded in death by numerous siblings.

He is survived by wife, Phyllis Westmoreland; brother and sister-in-law, Neal and Catherine Westmoreland, of Helen; sister, Barbara Edwards, of Tampa, Fla.; stepdaughters and spouses, Patsy Tatom and Greg Allen and Pam and Jeff Wood; grandchildren, Damien Tatom and Anna Wood; great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Tatom and Damien Slade Tatom; and numerous extended family.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.

Interment was in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
