Charles William ‘Bill’ Shepard

Mr. Charles William “Bill” Shepard, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at Park Place Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Gilmer County. He was a business owner and ever the salesman. He loved fishing, the novel of Louis L’Amour, and a good joke.

He is preceded in death by parents, Charles Lee Shepard and Marie Sumner Shepard; sister, Barbara Thompson; and son, James Lee Shepard.

He  is survived by wife of 53 years, Kay Barr Shepard; son, Charles David Shepard; daughters, Marisa Shepard (Barry) and Ashley Peebles (Clay); grandchildren, Candice Smith (Chad), Brendi Edge (David), Austin Shepard, Mikhail Conner, Marlan James, Jordi Bohannon and Chase Bohannon; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will have a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Methodist Church of Marshallville.
