Mr. Danny William Ryder, 59, of Jasper, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

He was born in Pickens County June 16, 1962, to Jerry and Ruby Boling Ryder. He graduated from Pickens High School in 1980.

He worked as an operations manager for Cherokee Auto Group. He was saved at Free Hope Church when he was 14 years old and was baptized. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Tate.

He is preceded in death by wife, Jean Ryder; father, Jerry Ryder; stepfather, Fred Ponder; uncle, Robert Boling; and several cousins.

He is survived by mother, Ruby Ponder; aunts, June Gilbert, Kathy Ryder and Vera Ponder; uncles, Randall Ponder and Tommy Ryder; and special friend that he called his brother, David Mosley.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Smith and the Rev. Ted Estes officiating.

Interment was in the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tony Aaron, David Mosley, David Johnson, Jim Copeland, Adam Borcot and Peter Jennings.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
