Mrs. Ruth Inez Wright Young

Mrs. Ruth Inez (Wright) Young, 90, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at her residence. 

She was born March 29, 1929, to the late Robert “Bob” Wright and Tama Mae Burk in Ellijay. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. 

She is preceded in death by husband, Noah Harlow Young; daughter, Tina Young Hughes; and sons, John Terry Young and Perry Harlow Young.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Bill Shotwell, of Villa Rica, June and Andy Anderson, of Waleska, Debra and Jerry Clark, of Carrollton, Donna Young Roper, of Ellijay; son, Gary Young, of Rapid City, S.D.; grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Michael and Debbie Shotwell, Brent and Christina Shotwell, Andy Jr. and Robin Anderson, Jennifer and Brandon Hathaway, Nichole and Chad Land, Shannon and Kristin Young, Erica and Jason Berghammer, Trina Young, Sean Young, Bridgett Ledford, Damon and Angie Hughes and Tyler Bearden; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Newman, of Blue Ridge; brother, Winston Raymond Burk, of Ducktown, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Young officiating. 

Music will be by Regina Mathis. 

A graveside service will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at the funeral home.
