Man charged with molestation

A man living in Ellijay has been charged with molesting a child. Pablo Velasquez-Tercero, 45, of Ellijay was charged with aggravated child molestation and third-degree cruelty to children. He was arrested following an investigation by the Ellijay Police Department.

Ellijay man charged in Floyd County

A Gilmer County man was charged with injuring another person with a firearm in Floyd County. Bobby Joel Hosey, 64, of Ellijay, was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and aggravated assault for an incident occurring Feb. 13. He was taken into custody March 2.

Gilmer County’s Family Connection office will see a transition in leadership later this year.  After 14 years in the director’s role, the office’s longtime director, Merle Howell Naylor, will retire at the end of July.
