Mrs. Marilyn Sue Collis Rogers
Mrs. Marilyn Sue Collis Rogers, 77, of Talking Rock, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Pruitt Healthcare of Blue Ridge.
She was born Sept. 6, 1940, in McCaysville, to the late Charles Benjamin Collis and Donna Ethel Branton Collis.
She was a graduate of West Fannin High School, class of 1958. She went on to serve her country honorably in the United States Army.
She is preceded in death by husband, Elder Carl Franklin Rogers Sr.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and Roy Strickland; Christine and the Rev. Bill McGill; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles L. Collis, Robert and Marie Collis; sister; Alice Jean Collis Willis; and sister-in-law, Ginny Collis.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Carl II and Christina Rogers, Grady and Yvonne Chaisson, all of Ellijay; daughter, Debra Kilgore, of Jasper; brother, Leroy Collis, of Inverness, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July, 6, 2018, from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with the Rev. Grady James Chaisson officiating.
Military graveside rites were performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Interment followed in the New Testament Church Cemetery in Ellijay.
Pallbearers were Michael Israel, Jason Morgan, Dylan Stroup, Makailyn Warner, Jacob Ryder and Shane McGill.
