Mrs. Gretchen Jeanne Haas
Mrs. Gretchen Jeanne Haas, of Ellijay, died Friday, Feb. 3 2017.
She was born in Memphis, Tenn., in 1931. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School.
She served as a reservations agent for C&S Airlines in St. Louis before moving to Atlanta to become a ticket agent with Eastern Airlines at Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport.
She married Roger Allen Haas in 1962, and raised two daughters in Atlanta before moving to Ellijay in 1985, where she began a career in real estate on Walnut Mountain.
She was an avid tennis player, competing in the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) and an enthusiastic supporter of the Atlanta Falcons. She was a great lover of dogs and enjoyed traveling with family and friends, including a memorable trip to the Ice Hotel in Kiruna, Sweden.
She is preceded in death by beloved Great Dane, Tiny Tim.
She is survived by husband, Roger A. Haas; daughters, Laura J. Haas, of New Orleans, La., and Linda C. Haas, of Asheville, N.C., as well as a few grandpuppies, Jake, Abiquiu and Tilghman, too, as well as Amite, the tiny cat.

No services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the national Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org), the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or to the Homeward Bound Pet Rescue of Gilmer County (HBPR.org).
