Mrs. Aimee Southerland Parks
Mrs. Aimee Southerland Parks, 100, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
She was born July 8, 1916, in Pickens County, to the late Columbus Jasper and Alice Carroll Southerland.
She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by husband, Henry J. Parks Sr., sons, Buster Parks and Ray Parks; sisters, Charlsie Lewis, Willie Fay Jones, Jewell Sanders, Magie Gable, Gladys Young; brothers, Grady, C.J., Preston and Homer Southerland.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Linda Parks, the Rev. Wallace and Carole Parks, Johnny and Debbie Parks, all of Ellijay, Jim and Susan Parks, of Jasper, Billy and Jennifer Parks, of Rome; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Robert Walker, Peggy Mullins, all of Jasper, Brenda and Ted Pylant, of Jonesboro; brother, Columbus Junior Southerland, of Florida; sister, Odeen Padgett, of Canton; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 22, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Burgess and the Rev. Brondy Davis officiating.
Music was by Ronald and Linda Hyde, Thelma Champion and Angie Ringwalt.
Pallbearers were Greg Parks, Mickey Walker, Jesse Parks, Michael Parks, Richie Parks and Barry Parks.
Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
