James Ronald Womack
Mr. James Ronald Womack, 73, died Saturday, June 22, 2019, at his home in Jonesboro, Ind.
He was born May 28, 1946, in Atlanta, to Roscoe and Doris Womack.
He attended school in Marietta, and graduated from Campbell High School, class of 1964. He worked as a welder and in retail. He married Rose Mary Lombard December 21, 1974.
He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed southern cooking, southern gospel, a good cup of coffee, fishing and being a grandpa.
He was an avid reader of western literature, as well as digesting Scripture and theological material on a daily basis. In recent years, he was an active member of the Twin City Bible Baptist Church. He also served at rescue missions, prison ministries, nursing homes and as a Sunday school teacher throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by parents, Doris and Roscoe Womack; great-grandson, Caleb Ginter; and granddaughter, Adriana Womack.
He is survived by wife of 45 years, Rose Mary; children: Rhoda (Bryan), of Port Orange, Fla.; Jason (Leah), of Perkins, Okla.; Jimmy (Andrea), of Marion, Ind.; Renee (Scott), of Lexington, Ky.; and Marie (Thad), of Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Brittany, Austin, Connor, Jarad, Sara, Alex, Aaron, AJ, Elisha, Madelyn, Josiah, Ellie, Elise, Ethan, and Kingston; sister, Alison Palmer, of Tallapoosa; and brother, Jim Womack, of Dallas.
A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Twin City Bible Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Ellijay City Cemetery.
