Mr. Edward Parks, 78, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018.
He was born April 15, 1939, in Gilmer County, to the late Henry G. and Amiee Southerland Parks. He was a product controller and office manager for the U.S. Government and was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
He is preceded in deathby brother, Henry G. “Buster” Parks.
He is survived by wife, Linda Starks Parks; son, the Rev. David Parks, of Germany; daughter, Cathy Brody, of Woodstock; sisters, Brenda Pylant, of Atlanta, Sue Walker and Peggy Mullins, both of Jasper; brothers, the Rev. Wallace Parks, Johnny Parks, both of Ellijay, Jimmy Parks, of Jasper, Billy Parks, of Rome; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, from the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Brondy Davis and the Rev. Roger Burgess officiating.
Music was by the Clayton family.
Pallbearers were Mike Parks, Richie Parks, Mickey Walker, Joey Godfrey, Josh Parks and Randall Ponders.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
