Roger Henry Widmann
Mr. Roger Henry Widmann, 72, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017.
He left behind his wife Wendy of 47 years, along with daughter, Erin and son, Trevor and granddaughter, Emily.
He is survived by two sisters, Linda Somers and Christine Burns; and brother-in-law, Chuck Somers.
He was born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. He attended college at Dean Junior College and Boston Architectural Center in Boston, Mass., where he met and married his wife, Wendy. Shortly after, they moved to Kings Mills, Maine, for 13 years and then moved to Vero Beach, Fla., to be closer to family and then to Rockledge, Fla., where they retired and moved permanently to Ellijay.
He was active in the Meals on Wheels Program and with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until his health precluded him from participating any more. He was always upbeat and had a great attitude, despite dealing with multiple myeloma for almost 20 years.
A celebration of life, and the first birthday of his granddaughter, was held Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Deep South Farms.
