ER ribbon cutting set
Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper has announced they will be hosting a ribbon cutting for the freestanding emergency department at the former North Georgia Medical Center on Friday, March 10, at 4 p.m. The event also will include an open house.
It’s possible the emergency room itself will not be opened at that time, a Piedmont official said.
“The March 10 date is firm because that’s when Speaker (David) Ralston will be available. He’s been a huge part of this,” said Donna Reece, spokeswoman for Piedmont Mountainside.
“We don’t want to delay the opening of the emergency room to be able to have an open house, but we may have to. Because if the facility is open, we can’t have people coming in and out of the emergency room with patients in there.”
The emergency department is scheduled to open soon after the open house, Reece said.
