Endsley named principal at Gilmer High School
Carla Endsley was selected as the new principal at Gilmer High School during a Gilmer County Board of Education meeting Thursday, Sept. 22.
She has filled the interim principal position since Tuesday, July 26, when Dr. Eric McFee resigned his position at GHS.
Board chairman Jim Parmer described Endsley’s selection for the role as “so positive.”
“I’ve heard nothing but good things (about her) ... She’s so warm. She’s so welcoming. I hear the students are reacting positively,” he added. “I’m excited to continue in the position,” Endsley told the Times-Courier. “I’m looking forward to a great year.”
Both she and Parmer also spoke of the need for continuity at the high school, and Endsley expressed the hope that her administration can continue “to build on the great work we’re doing.”
Endsley has five years of previous experience as a principal in Colorado and worked as an assistant principal at GHS for the 2015-2016 school year.
Tiffany Boyette has been selected to move into her former position as an assistant principal.
