Three incumbents qualify for re-election
Three current elected officials qualified Monday in the first day of qualifying for county positions that ends Friday at noon.
Charlie Paris, the current chairman of the Gilmer County Board of Commissioners, qualified to run again. Also, longtime school board members Michael Bramlett and Ronald Watkins qualified.
The qualifying fee for commission chairman is $2,137.61. The school board fee for Post 4 and Post 5 is $43.50, respectively.
Qualifying is also open for commission board Post 2, currently held by Travis Crouch. That fee is $213.76.
