Pictured is a new ambulance recently put into service by Gilmer County Public Safety. Purchased through CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security) Act funding, the 2020 Type 1 Wheeled Coach ambulance sets on an F-450 4x4 chassis. It was purchased as a demo model with very low mileage and the purchase allowed for a much quicker delivery time in comparison to the 180-270 day build time that’s normal for a brand-new ambulance, noted Fire Chief Daniel Kauffman.
