ROAD AT WRECK SCENE NOW OPEN: Highway 52 East at the scene of the two tractor-trailers colliding head-on this morning on Owltown Bridge is now open, according to Lt. Frank Copeland of the Gilmer County Sheriff's Office. State troopers are still on the scene, we're told, and the Times-Courier is hoping to speak to one of the investigating officers on Tuesday. (4 p.m.)

MAJOR ROAD CLOSURE: Lt. Frank Copeland of the Gilmer County Sheriff's Office has reported there has been a head-on collision between two tractor-trailers on Highway 52 East on the Owltown Bridge this morning (Monday, Oct. 8). One driver has been has been taken by air ambulance from the scene, and the highway is expected to be blocked for some time, Copeland said. (10 a.m.)
