Carver, Bobcats cut down Canes
It may go down as one of the biggest wins of the Gilmer High School baseball program. Behind a complete game pitching performance by senior Mayson Carver, the Bobcats downed region foe Cartersville 3-1 at home last Thursday. The following day, GHS beat the Southeast Whitfield Raiders 2-1 for its first region road win of the season.

Gilmer falls to Fannin in final inning
Gilmer baseball dropped recent nonregion games to an old region foe and Highway 515 rival. Last Friday, the Bobcats traveled to North Hall High School and dropped a five-inning game in sub-freezing temperatures, 10-0. GHS began this week with a 5-4 loss to the Fannin County Rebels, who erased a three-run deficit with two outs in the final inning to come out on top.
