Winsbur ‘Wimp’ Harrison Grant

Mr. Winsbur “Wimp” Harrison Grant, 81, of Ellijay, died Friday, May 20, 2022, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 23, 1941, in Forsyth, County, to the late Uyless Grant and Lizzie McGhee Grant.

He was a mail carrier for many years and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by loving wife, Johnnie Thomas Grant; and sister, Ellen Stover, of Mableton.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Sid Brooks, of Ellijay; brothers, Billy Grant, of Blue Ridge; Vernie Grant, of Ellijay, and Charles Grant, of Ecuador; sisters, Betty Enslen, of Mableton, and Florence Bennett, of Acworth; and grandchildren, Brett Brooks, Caitlin Pettit, Garrett Pettit and Oaklyn Pettit.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Nealey and the Rev. Larry Stover officiating.

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lee Parks, Wayne Holt, Bobby Pettit, Fulton Pettit, Toby Yarbrough, Joseph McCollum, Garrett Pettit and Darrel Jones.

Honorary pallbearer was Leon Parks.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
