Vondell Cochran Evans

Vondell Cochran Evans, 81, of Ellijay, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2021. 

She was born Jan. 29, 1940, to the late Clifford and Josie Mary Ellis Cochran in Ellijay.

She was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with her family. 

She is preceded in death by husband, Calvin “Doc” Evans; sisters, Vernell Cochran Lowman, Gladys Cochran Mooney, Mary Leon Johnson and Evelyn Cook Cantrell; brothers, J.B. Cochran, Coy Cochran, Wayne Cochran, Howie Cochran and Lloyd Cochran. 

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Mike Huff Sr., Sherry and Ivy Hyde, all of Ellijay; son, Michael William Evans, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Kristen Powell, Kandace Powell, Calvin Michael Evans, Ivy Hyde, Mike Huff Jr., Mark Huff and Jody Huff; great-grandchildren, Henry Michael Evans, Rose Evans; and sister, Alene Cochran Cantrell, of Ellijay.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at Ellijay Church of Christ with Minister Butch Jones and Minister Jeremy Green officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Evan Pierce, Joseph Daniel Lowe, Dale Cochran, Mark Huff, Mike Huff and Hollis Lowman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, from 10-11 a.m., at the Ellijay Church of Christ. 

Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to Ellijay Church of Christ in memory of Vondell Evans.
