Teddy Andrew Root

Mr. Teddy Andrew Root, 58, of Ellijay, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, with his family and loved ones by his side.

He was born Sept. 28, 1964, in Virginia Beach, Va., to the late Edward Slade Root and Margaret Ann Jackson Root. He was a loving, caring husband and father and was the greatest poppy to his five grandkids. His family was his pride and joy.

He was an avid sports fan and loved spending his weekends watching his favorite teams with friends and family. He had the biggest heart that shined brightly in his personal and business lives. It didn’t matter what someone’s past looked like, he was always willing to offer a second chance.

He is preceded in death by brother, Billy Root; sister, Mary Ellen Kearns; nephew Shawn Neuman, Joey Neuman and Robert Murnigahan.

He is survived by beloved wife, Lisa Root; son, Kevin and Courtney Root; daughter, Katie and Tucker Stenberg; grandchildren, Aviah Root, Eslie Root, Elisha Root, Silas Root and Mattie Stenberg.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Elder Shannon Bearden officiating.

Donations can be made to Leukemia and Alzheimer’s foundation in loving memory of Ted Root.
