Taylor Buford Pritchett

Mr. Taylor Buford Pritchett, 93, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016.

He was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Chatsworth, to the late Taylor Jefferson Pritchett and Manila Withrow Pritchett. He was a member of Mountaintown Baptist Church, and was the oldest member of the Oak Bowery Masonic Lodge #81 F&AM. He was raised as a master mason Nov. 8, 1946. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School and retired from Firestone Tire Company as a forklift operator. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed raccoon hunting in his retirement years. 

He is preceded in death by wife, Nena Barnes Pritchett; and daughter, Kathie Pritchett Taffin.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kim Pritchett, of Exton, Pa.; grandchildren, David Taffin, Matthew Pritchett, Lindsay Pritchett, Daniel Pritchett; great-grandchildren, Joshua Taffin, Nathan Taffin, David Taffin, Erin Pritchett, Chase Pritchett and Emily Pritchett; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ollie and Charlie Sales, Bernice C. Barnes, Helen James Barnes and Wanda P. Barnes, all of Ellijay.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Barnett officiating.  

Music was by the Mountaintown Baptist Church choir.  

Masonic graveside rites were performed by the Oak Bowery Masonic Lodge #81 at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion immediately following the funeral service. 

Interment followed in the Mountaintown Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Taffin, Matthew Pritchett, Daniel Pritchett, Scott Barnes, Matt Rock and Jerry Baxter.
