Mr. Roy Henry Abercrombie, 90, of Ellijay, died Friday, June 17, 2022.

He was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Ellijay, to the late Richard Martin and Lorena May Smith Abercrombie.

He was a member of Pleasant Gap Baptist Church, an automotive dealer and a real estate developer, but his greatest pride was his role as a beloved father and Pop.

He is preceded in death by infant daughter, Daphne Lynette Abercrombie; grandson, Rob Westmoreland; brothers, Clyde Abercrombie, Hoyt Abercrombie, Otis Abercrombie and Herman Abercrombie; brother-in-law, the Rev. Emmett Burgess.

He is survived by wife of 73 years, Elzie Janelle Davis Abercrombie, of Ellijay, daughters Helen (David) Stuart, of Jasper, Karen (Claude) Wright, Ellijay; grandchildren, Benjamin Stuart, Christopher Flood and Hannah Bruce; great-grandchildren, Henry, Everett, Ryker, Skylar, Ellavee and Bennett; sister-in-law, Elgaree Farist; sisters, Rosa Lee Burgess, Mattie Hood, Elsie Kowitz, all of Ellijay; brothers, Leonard (Betty) Abercrombie, of Ellijay, James (Teresa) Abercrombie, of Adairsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lamar Beason, the Rev. Wade Davis, the Rev. Chris Chastain and the Rev. Alan Cain officiating.

Pallbearers were Christopher Flood, Benjamin Stuart, Byron Abercrombie, Larry Farist, B.J. Clampitt and Chad Luther.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Mulkey, Jim Fendley, Calvin Sanford, Philip Dotson, Cameron Sanford, Wayne Underwood, Jackie Ellington, Bobby Dotson, Michael Bramlett, Tommy Witherow, Dewell Sanford, Mickey Brinkley, Jay Smith, Bobby Abercrombie, Eddie Kerr, Johnny Cochran, Travis Hughes, John Reece, Ronnie Abercrombie and Ronnie Vautrot.

Interment was in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
