Rita Faye Richards

Rita Faye Richards, 65, of Ellijay, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020.

She was born May 29, 1955, in Pickens County, to the late Carl and Bessie Chastain Richards. She was employed by Gilmer County, working at local convenience centers.

She is survived by sons, Jamie (Angela) and Joey (Mickie) Priest, both of Ellijay; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Richards, of Ellijay; sisters, Marcelle (Marvin) Smith, of Talking Rock, Jo Ann (Clinton) Jones, of Ellijay; special friends, Helen Carroll and Shelia Buff.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Arnold and the Rev. Jackie Ellington officiating. 

Music was by Teresa Chastain and Pat Shelton.

Pallbearers were Jordan Priest, Justin Priest, Junior Shook, Gary Matthews, Daniel Pinson and Sammy Lewis.

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.
