Raymond Stanley

Mr. Raymond Stanley, 95, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021. 

He was born July 16, 1925, in Ellijay, to the late Homer and Emily Jane Reece Stanley. 

He was a member of Pisgah Church of Christ and was retired from Hampton Mills Textile Plant. He was a lifelong farmer (his passion).

He is preceded in death by wife of 52 years, Mary Griggs Stanley. 

He is survived by  daughters, Charlotte Stanley Nicholson, of Ellijay, Janice Stanley Bass, of Dalton; sons, Gerald R. and Marsha Stanley, Gary L. Stanley, William G. Stanley, all of Ellijay; grandchildren, Shana Kelly, of Chatsworth, Misty Groves, Melissa Knight, both of Dalton, Meagan Ridings, Mandra Jenkins,  Monica Carpenter, all of Ellijay, and Ashley Stanley, of Alabama; great-grandchildren, Destiny Long, of Dalton, Skyy Kelly, Heaven Kelly, Rayne Kelly, all of Chatsworth, Sierra Groves Cantrell, of Savannah, Sidney Groves, of Dalton, Scott Ridings, Korbin Ridings, Shaylee Jenkins, Bryson Jenkins, Hunter Stanley, Braydon Stanley, Landon Carpenter, all of Ellijay, Gage Barton, of Dalton;  great-great-grandchildren, Kyngston Mitchell, of Dalton and Asher Curtis, of Chatsworth; sisters, Evelyn Stanley Walker, Irene Stanley Gorman, Lorene Stanley Bass, all of Ellijay, Pauline Stanley Rowland, of  Barberton, Ohio, Alene Stanley Waldrop, of  Ypsilanti, Mich.; brother, Preston Stanley, of Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. 

A funeral service was held at noon Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Butch Jones officiating. 

Interment was in Pisgah Church of Christ Cemetery.
