Mrs. Reatha Mae Tankersley May
Mrs. Reatha Mae Tankersley May, 90, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at the Gilmer Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Ellijay, to the late Clyde Alan Tankersley and Mattie Elizabeth Ratcliff Tankersley. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and retired from the Gilmer County school system as a lunchroom manager.
She is preceded in death by husband, Bernard Dale May; son, Alan May; sister, Vertie Lee Tankersley; and brother, Cecil Robert Tankersley.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and the Rev. Jess Posey, of Ellijay; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Gail H. May, Donald Gary May, and Tracey May, all of Ellijay; grandchildren, Michelle May Mack, Linsey May, Dr. Samuel Posey, Noah May, and Laura May; great-grandchild, Tyson Chase May; and sister, Jean Tankersley Woodring, of Ellijay.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rubin Smith, the Rev. Jess Posey, and the Rev. Dan Rosser officiating.
Music was by Loy Jarrett.
Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Key, Rodney Key, Kenny Fendley, Squeak Jones, William Cantrell, the Rev. Bryan Hensley, Fred Stahl III, Matthew Mulkey, Ruel Mulkey, Jonathan Batten and Ryan Garrett.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam May, Danny Logan, Brian Stahl and Scott Logan.
