Mrs. Lois Godfrey Wright, 91, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019.

She was born Feb. 22, 1928 in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Preston Godfrey and Rosa Wheeler Godfrey. She was a production worker for many years and a member of Talking Rock Baptist Church. 

She is preceded in death by husband, John Bill Wright; son, Danny Wright; brothers, Leon Godfrey, Eugene Godfrey, Randall Godfrey, Kenneth Godfrey, Truman Godfrey; and sister, Frances Burgess.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Mackey Falls, of Talking Rock, Diane and Lynn Green, of Cleveland, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Melissa Booth, Sharon Mitchell, Jennifer Meador, Becky Pirkle; six great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie DeGolier, Aaron Meador, Elijah Meador, Kerry Mitchell, Caden Pirkle and Makayla Pirkle; brothers, Melvin Godfrey, of Ellijay, Bernard Godfrey, of Jasper; sister, Edith Chastain, of Ellijay; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, from Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Wallace Parks and the Rev. Tommy Sanford officiating. Music was by Brenda Timms. 

Pallbearers were Matthew Godfrey, Randy Wright, Johnny Wright, Lonnie Wright, Earl Burgess and Jerry Painter. 

Honorary pallbearer was Mary Ellen Vick.

Interment was in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
