Mrs. Lillie Davis Sanford

Mrs. Lillie Davis Sanford, 88, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021.

She was born June 16, 1932, in Gilmer County, to the late Robert and Janie Dotson Davis. 

She was a graduate of Ellijay High School, worked in the sample department of Blue Ridge Carpet and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. 

She is preceded in death by husband, Cecil Sanford on Oct. 7, 2015.

She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Trent Sanford, Kent and Rhonda Sanford and Tim Sanford, all of Ellijay; daughter, Sandra Ralston, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Victoria Silvers, Christopher Ralston, Sonya Richards, Corey Sanford, Reece Sanford, Courtney Smith, Caitlin Neal and Chris Swinney; great-grandchildren, Della Ann Richards, Layla Isabella Sanford, Hezekiah Cavendish Richards, Weston Davis Sanford,  Ethan Jamison Sanford, Cooper Silvers, Thomas Silvers, Sonni Ralston, Luna Ralston, Piper Swinney and  coming soon William Kent Sanford; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Rosser and the Rev. Rubin Smith officiating. 

Music was by Dwight Sanford, Loy Jarrett, Del Land, Karen Buchanan and Charles Moody. 

Pallbearers were Reece Sanford, Christopher Ralston, Corey Sanford, Thomas Silvers, Cooper Silvers and Chris Swinney.

Interment was in the church cemetery.
