Mrs. Evelyn Nix Worley

Mrs. Evelyn Nix Worley, 93, of Ellijay, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2020.

She was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Cleveland to the late Etna Gordon and Irene Underwood Nix. She was a graduate of White County High School, member of the First Baptist Church and operated Worley’s Food Store in downtown Ellijay for many years. 

She is preceded in death by husband, Robert Worley; and siblings, Lee Stovall, Clarence Nix, Charles Nix, Frank Nix and Elena Collins.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Cheryl Worley; daughter, Meg Worley Loudermilk, all of Ellijay; sister, Mary Kinter, of Lawrenceville; brother-in-law and spouse, Ed and Carol Worley, of Ellijay; grandchildren, James Worley, Mary Evelyn Loudermilk and William Cannon Loudermilk; and great-grandchildren, Brandon T. Worley and Julia Loudermilk.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, from the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with  the Rev. James Holt officiating. 

Pallbearers were Bob Worley, Corbin Kingsbury, Douglas McClure, Cannon Loudermilk, Steve Wells and Ben Reece.
