Mrs. Eulyeen Miller Callihan
Mrs. Eulyeen Miller Callihan, 92, of Cherry Log, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018.
She was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Gilmer County to the late Harley and Cordelia Whitener Miller. She worked for the Levi’s Company in Blue Ridge and later for IRS in Atlanta until her retirement. She was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ, was a volunteer for several years with the Cherry Log Community Action Group making candy, preparing meals and crafts, and served as its treasurer for many years. She worked with Lads to Leaders in her church. Eulyeen was widely known for her kindness, her generous hospitality and delicious country cooking. She treasured the many friendships she made through the years in the Cherry Log community and with her church family in Ellijay.
She is preceded in death by husband, Jack Callihan; and two infant sons, Larry Callihan and Lamar Callihan.
She is survived by son and daughter–in-law, Philip and Sandra Callahan, of Griffin; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Bob Dunlap, of Savannah, Cathy Callihan, of Cherry Log, Judy and Steve Drappo, of Henderson, Nev.; special niece, Sybil Norton; special caregiver, Lauren Torres; grandchildren, spouses and great-grandchildren, Lauren Lake, (Bobby, Christian and Calyn), Mackenzie Loughland, M.D., (Jack, Maya, Abby, and Justin), Kristin Callahan, Ph.D., (Bob, Eliza, Eden and Ruby), Eric Callahan (Ashley, Hayes), Mary Elise Cox (Mark, Iva and Emmeline), David Dunlap (Minaru) and Jennifer Dunlap.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at the Ellijay Church of Christ with Minister Butch Jones and Brother Curtis Kingsley officiating.
Music was by the congregation and Wendy Jones who performed a beautiful solo “No More Night.”
Pallbearers were Brandon Jones, Alan Hall, David Green, Nathan Chapman, Michael Miller and Billy Weeks.
Honorary pallbearers were Ken White, Roy Walker, Jim Welch, Marvin Pritchett, Gary Rittenberry, Zack Pritchett, Tom Cook, Darryl Miller and Tim Miller.
Interment was in the Underwood Cemetery.
