Mrs. Cartha Vonn Jones Christopher
Mrs. Cartha Vonn Jones Christopher, 74, of Ellijay, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017.
She was born Aug. 25, 1943, in Corinth, Miss., to the late Jessie Allan and Jewell Burcham Jones. She was raised in Memphis, Tenn., where she graduated from Messick High School, class of 1961.
She worked for many years as a legal and administrative secretary, finishing her career as a secretary at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Fla. She was a member of Ellijay First United Methodist Church and was an accomplished cross-stitch artist, creating many beautiful works of art.
She is survived by husband of 56 years, Michael Lee Christopher Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Jr. and April Christopher, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Stephen Randall and Dahlia Christopher, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Keefe Walker Christopher, Savannah Paige Christopher Pinson (Thomas); sister, Shirley Maureen Jones Howard (Patrick), of Memphis, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Tarr officiating.
Music was by Thomas Pinson, Carlene Archer and the Rev. Scott Eaton.
Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens in Blue Ridge.
Pallbearers were Patrick Howard Jr., Ray Moore, Jon Pack, Sheriff Dane Kirby, Chris O’Neill, and Thomas Cox.
Honorary pallbearers were Rusty Coleman, George Blackwell, Gary McNeamer, Dale Greene, Gary Wayne Marsicek III and Keefe Christopher.
